Mm... yeah, it seemed like that was exactly what was expected, too, with how the one that announced it said "a break" was "needed." I'm actually feeling like I missed a ton of important information in the five days I was gone, and not just regarding performances.
But even with that information, I'm sure nothing makes any better sense than without it. Some members of Cirrus told me to not try and think about their angle, but performances and murder don't really connect to me so easily. If there's no point to all this expect sick entertainment for them, that'sone thing. But the Showmaster doesn't seem to be framing it that way. Being murdered in her stories was one thing, but these weird social experiments between the Families by the producers... I'm really not sure what the angle is. They don't tell much of a story.
Why would the Showmaster hire them to contribute to her stage if they aren't facilitating the goal of her stage performances?
I don't know that I have anything I could fill you in on, either. I've tried talking to the Ticketmaster about things before. I think we can trust her more than the others, but even she admitted to me she's using us all for her own ends.

If we're all interacting, it still switches up the dynamics between us all. We're still doing something. Even if I don't know what the purpose is for.
Can't they do that without murder? Compared to what I understand of the Doctor's performance, the Dame's made far more sense to have the murder parts in it.
Go up against him? She must be enhancing these producers I can't believe these people all have the ability to fight and send themselves normally when the majority of the people in the families don't.

The families were split up into two groups of four. The Unholy Disorder, Siren's Melodies, Forge and Sunsign were all one group. Eonia, Cirrus, Acidia, and the Holy Order were the other group.
Each family had to pick which one they would wed, bed, or behead. And each one of those carried a punishment worse than the last. Behead meaning that you died.

I knew that Forge had the least amount of connections with us, and so they were likely to send Behead our way. And I knew that Siren's would choose to protect Forge, so they would send them Wed, but probably not give us the worst option. And Sunsign... I just hoped and prayed for the best, honestly. But I thought they were unlikely to behead us due to the children.

I guessed right. And so did all of the other families in our group. Miraculously, by sending the same punishment to each other, we all managed to cancel them out. But that wasn't the same for the other group.
I see. So... the way to avoid that guessing game would be to get all the families together and make agreements on which family they will protect and which family they will kill. In the end, because it cancelled out it's not exactly malicious, right?
I'm sure they'll continue to throw more curveballs at us. So I don't know how well or not that would work in the future. But I suppose it's an option worth looking into.
The Doctor seemed bummed about our outcome, and even though we all 'won', we still got some strange punishments anyway. They just... weren't as violent as what happened to Acidia and the others. Ours were more like inconveniences.
They won't all work out like that, but for those that do it should prevent the worst of the situations like Acidia. The thing is I don't really know people all that well on the other families to know if they would follow what they commit to when push comes to shove because maybe someone important is playing for the Family one time versus another. But so far I haven't seen a single reason for any of us to be not working together as a whole group rather than going solo versus the other seven Families for survival gambles.
In theory, if every Family would agree to a list 1-7 of the other families so that no Family is ever ranked the same for more than one Family, there would be a very streamlined way of knowing how to prioritize things for situations like this to minimize impact to everyone involved if that's a possible outcome.
Example. For Disorder, out of the other 7 Families, Sirens are ranked number two in their list. Likewise, Disorder would be number two for the Sirens. For the other six families, Sirens and Disorder can't be ranked #2 in their lists.
If you rank it correctly, then however anyone is split up to play in the future it should follow the same priority that everyone is aware of. Even if it can't handle all the scenarios or get everyone out free of harm, if everyone agrees, it's a lot easier to know what's coming than be guessing and thinking other Families have a vendetta against another or whatnot. I firmly believe that the paranoia these situations cause is the part of the game for these producers.
But, again... it's very simple and logical. It disregards emotions and things like people panicking or having trouble calling the shots on things like this. I don't know if everyone can be trusted to follow when push comes to shove currently. We've only been together just under a month at longest, so it may not yet be the right time for people to see a reason to follow when they think they might be able to get something safer for their Family. This move guarantees equality for everyone, but not ultimate safety unless everything cancels out. I guess the only relief is if it doesn't cancel our it's mutually assured destruction for both Families involved. Neither can point the finger at the other.
Still... if we all trusted each other to want to get out of here with us all in as good condition as possible, that would make things less stressful in the moment.
It's just once strategy for one type of game that can bleed into a few others in a way, but... I think the key is the trust. Once we reach that level of trust between each other we'll be getting somewhere. Until then, the producers definitely have us at their mercy. The game has sowed concern and distrust even among those who managed to get off lightly.
I get what you're saying. It might not be able to account for every situation. But it would still be a method of trying to counter some of the shit the producers are tossing our way.

I've been fucked over too many times. That doesn't mean I'm not willing to give it a try if the rest of the disorder agrees.
Personally, I agree that these games seem to WANT to pit the families against each other and create discord. But I think the only way any of us are gonna get off of this boat is if everyone works together. We all want the same thing. And rather than getting frustrated at another family, the real culprit is the Showmaster and her henchmen.

I'm not a professional boxer or anything, but I'm scrappy. I've been in my fair share of fights over the years.
I hate to admit it, but the Dame overpowered me easily when I had a go with her, though. She's got supernatural speed and that's not a result of a blessing, because otherwise I could have replicated it. Same with the venom within her fangs. That's all natural to her. Or supernatural? I dunno.
I didn't rise to the provocation this last time though. If I got seriously messed up before the game, the kids might have had to deal with the whole thing alone. Or might not have made the same guesses.
If everyone made a genuine effort to take one down all at once though, who can say how it would go? They couldn't handle ALL of us.
If we had more than three people who were trained as military or body guards or otherwise trained to kill rather than fight for sport, things might be different. I mean, even trained to fight for sport would help since I know there's a few of those, but when dealing with people like the Dame I don't think we can use fists. Not sure. I'm guessing they can't die, either, but they also aren't feeling very threatened by us.

But anyway, yeah. Though I'd prefer you not share that around. I generally try and keep it to myself. If someone uses their blessing around me and I notice or see it being used, I can replicate it myself, so long as I can touch them at some point.
It will stay with me until it gets erased by replicating a different blessing. So it only works for one at a time.

I've been stuck with healing since getting on the boat. I feel like I can't get rid of it though when people are always getting fucked up all the time here.
