[Since he'd been rather preoccupied all night, he hadn't noticed anything amiss at all. Not until now, at least. Walking out of his room, he spots Phoenix on the floor. His brow furrows and he approaches. And that's when he realizes it. A door is missing.
Damn it.
Forte gets it. The same thing happened to his own sister in this hellhole.
That doesn't make it easier though.
He trudges over, and slides down the wall beside him in silence. Nothing he says is gonna help with the disappearance of his sister. And he's never been good at that sort of thing to begin with. At the very least, he doesn't have to leave him alone, though.]
[ He feels Forte more than he sees him. Literally in this case, the quiet surge of loss and sympathy. His breath stills in his throat as his head buried into his knees shifts to look the other direction. ]
Hi. [ His voice cracks in his throat. ] Sorry, I just got back.
[ usually he might resist, this time he doesn't. something in his throat strangling a little as he nods - ]
Yesterday was long; Neither of us wanted to be alone.
[ but maybe he should have stayed and what... watch dove's door shift in real time? he hadn't even seen here in weeks (and he looked daily, of course he did). ]
Nah, I get it. What I mean is... if you sit around on your hands because you're dreading the answer, it doesn't ultimately help you or her. It would just leave you wondering and more stressed than you already are.
[ He's quiet for a long moment after that. Still. ]
[ His shoulders shake a little against Forte's arm, but he doesn't say anything. He doesn't cry. He's just still, like he's sucking up the environment around him and putting a lock on it. After a while: ]
[ he should say no he should say that's his sister he should say anything else. but the little bit of happy bliss he'd felt the night before and this morning feels like it's been torn in two. ]
[ his voice is quiet and soft and it's noticeable that it's taking all he can to rely on forte than run off and do what he might usually do: ]
[For his part, he won't make a big deal about it. Hopefully that helps a bit. He knows being vulnerable like this seriously sucks. Maybe he keeps thinking about the twin from his visions, but Dove's still someone he cares about and loves. It hasn't diminished his feelings for her none.]
'Kay. I'll go find her when I head out later today and ask. In the meantime, you should probably get something to eat and try to rest for a bit.
[ Of course Dove matters. To the him that's here she'd always matter. That'd been his decision, that all of his memories could be important. Be it Tommy, a twin, or Dove - they're impossible people to replace in his mind and heart. ]
[ Maybe that's the fact it hits harder, though. That he can't see her everyday - like he feels like he's losing two siblings at once. He shakes his head a little at the suggestion. ]
We had breakfast, I'm not hungry.
[ Half a lie. The food was forgotten a few minutes in, but he's not going to say that. He doesn't move to get up, either, eyes a little foggy now. ]
[ "Treat yourself kindly today," and the first thing he thinks about is how not even an hour ago he was making out with his boyfriend. Maybe he was treating himself too kindly and he should have been here (no, that's not it). ]
[ He doesn't quite look up but he does give a small nod. The 'thanks' is a quiet breath and still.... He doesn't move to get up. Not yet, not until he's fully composed himself does he stand. ]
[Hopefully, it can do the same for him. He lifts his hand in a slight wave, and will head down the hall and out the door, at the same time pulling his phone out to send a text. He's gotta get ahold of someone.

Re: 241; later morning
You don't gotta apologize. You were with your boyfriend, right?

Re: 241; later morning
He exhales softly, staring ahead.]
Wanna go see Nana? If she's asleep, we could always go together to see her. I check on Star a lot, there.
Re: 241; later morning
And if she's not there?
[ Because she hasn't been this whole time. Because she's been lost because - ]
Until recently, we've always been together.
[ and now because of the ship... ]
Re: 241; later morning
[He's trying to remain positive. She's still gotta be somewhere. And they're already aware they can't die. So it's just a matter of where.]

Re: 241; later morning
Do you think there's a way she can talk to her if she's not asleep?
Re: 241; later morning
. . . I think if there was, we would have been able to communicate with her already. But it doesn't hurt to ask.
Re: 241; later morning
... I'm afraid of what the answer might be.
Re: 241; later morning
Re: 241; later morning
I'm not going to not stress about it.

Try and treat yourself kindly today.
[He'll get up, brushing the back of his clothes off.]
I'm gonna see if I can go find Nana.

Re: 241; later morning
I'll be back in a bit. Call if you need me.
Re: 241; later morning
I will, but it'll - I'll be okay for a while. Promise. Maybe I just need to go take a shower or something.
