Character Info Till comes from a canon where aliens, known as Segyein, have essentially conquered multiple universes. Earth fell and now the Segyein keep humans for pets (or for breeding, experimentation, etc if unlucky). Till was bought by Urak, the CEO of a human editing company, who believes in training humans through strict physical discipline. As a result, Till has been abused and experimented on for the majority of his life. He hates all Segyein and wishes for their deaths. In the world of the canon, the segyein enjoy the 'sounds' that humans are capable of making. As such, many pet owners have their humans trained from a young age to sing and to one day participate on the Alien Stage- a singing competition where the loser pays with their life. Till's owner enrolled him in Anakt Garden as a child, a kindergarten for humans that trains them until adulthood to perform and sing. PERSONALITY: Till is bitter and hateful toward the segyein. His emotions are reactive and explosive, and he is particularly stubborn. He is a person who refuses to bend his will, and he holds fast to his humanity, even when his resistance and refusal to cooperate result in physical harm and punishment, time and time again. He can be brutal and harsh if he has to, such as being forced onto the Alien Stage, but that isn't something he enjoys. In complete contrast to this, Till is the most emotionally sensitive of the entire cast. He is kind-hearted, loves hard, and wears his emotions on his sleeve. While he is loud and might present as gruff, he cries easily, and would just as soon make flower crowns, write music, paint, or draw, and spend time enjoyably with friends. He longs for connection with others and enjoys being included. At the same time, he is awkward and shy, and has trouble expressing himself through his words versus through his creative outlets. As a result, he can be particularly sensitive and is easy to tease. Till is also emotionally avoidant. He has terrible low self-esteem, does not think highly of himself, and is afraid to express himself earnestly for fear of rejection. In addition to this he carries deeply embedded guilt in relation to his childhood friend Ivan, both for failing to run away with him as a child, and as a result of his death on stage. Till loves others and is extremely empathetic, but he is also highly traumatized, and as a result, that plays into his fear of growing close to others and becoming hurt or harming them in the process. TOKEN ABILITIES AND WEAKNESSES • Eye light refraction: His eyes are still mainly teal, but they refract different shades of that. • After image: Staring directly into his eyes too long can leave the aftereffects one might receive when staring at something light too long, as seeing the afterimage of it in your vision for a while. • Faint glowing (even in darkness) • Hair ripples with refracted light • Voice carries a melodic quality • Music and song helps him focus his abilities more accurately • Light concealment: Can conceal and mask themselves and others within light. There MUST be a light source. • Aura: Using the electromagnetic radiation waves around someone, he can see a colored 'aura' about someone, which can read their basic mood (calm, steady, upset, angry, sad, etc). More on aura colors and sign-ups for it here. • Light illusions: Can bend, split, and manipulate light into creating dazzling displays and colorful illusions. It works best, obviously, with strong light sources. More ghostly with less light provided. • Light sealing: Can store light within objects/beings, which can be released at a later time. • Light crafting: Can craft light into simple, tangible objects. Swords, whips, shields, balls of light energy, etc • Mood Ring Light: The Light surrounding him reflects his emotions. Calm glows steadily, excitement flickers, and anger or anguish bursts like a flare • Light Healing: Creating light that can heal. Particularly through tissue repair and with skin conditions, but it can also positively influence moods. • Can create two additional sets of arms made entirely of light as a result of his convergence with Ivan. This is created at will and disappears when he's done with it. • Veins of Moonlight: As a 'gift' from sleep, his blood glows faintly and is imbued with restorative properties, but only for others. When willingly offered, it can mend wounds or relieve spiritual afflictions. The downside is that he will suffer all of their pain as a result. WEAKNESSES • Light manipulation requires constant focus; distractions can cause uncontrolled flashes or blindness • Overuse may cause migraines, eye strain, or temporary blindness • Darkness or total absence of light dampens or nullifies their power • Cannot create warmth or fire; light is cold and intangible • Vulnerable to shadowy entities that feed on light or silence illumination • Natural glow at night makes concealment difficult. Must especially cover up or have someone with darkness manipulation help conceal or mask them.
